Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost to evaluate my facility? How much will a new energy-saving system cost? What technologies do you use to lower energy costs? How are we different from other companies offering energy-saving products? I already have power-factor correction on the mains in my facility. Can I still get savings on my electricity bills? What is the effect of your equipment on equipment downtime and operation?
How much will it cost to evaluate my facility?
There is no cost for an initial evaluation of your facility. We conduct a “walkthrough” of your facility and gather some preliminary data that enables us to generate a basic energy-savings estimate. This evaluation provides enough information to determine if a more detailed site survey and engineering design is warranted.
There is a fee for the detailed site survey and engineering design, but we’ll refund it if our detailed analysis is unable to meet or exceed the initial walkthrough estimate. The amount of the site survey fee depends on your facility and the data gathered during the initial walkthrough.

How much will a new energy-saving system cost?
We take a systematic approach to the design of new systems, and will work within your financial and savings constraints. A typical project will provide a payback within 2 - 3 years. After the payback period, the system will continue to deliver electrical energy savings for the life of your facility.

What technologies do you use to lower energy costs?
We have an array of different technologies to choose from, depending on your facility’s particular needs. During our site survey and design phase, we’ll select and size the products to provide optimal savings.

How are we different from other companies offering energy-saving products?
We design and install the optimal energy-saving system for your company, based on a detailed analysis of your facility and its loads. We back up our savings projections with an insurance policy, underwritten by Lloyd’s of London. Our technologies address the inefficiencies in your electrical distribution system, as well as the loads themselves, and operate whenever your loads are operational. Common “Energy-Management” systems only work by turning your equipment off (such as lighting and air-conditioning) during periods of inactivity, but do nothing when they’re actually operating. Our solutions provide savings when your equipment and lighting are actually working.

I already have power-factor correction on the mains in my facility. Can I still get savings on my electricity bills?
Absolutely. Power-factor correction at the mains (where the electricity enters your building) keeps the utility happy, but does nothing to address the inefficiencies in the electrical distribution system inside your building. Our technologies deal with these inefficiencies and are proven to save energy, regardless of the amount of power-factor correction installed at the main electrical panel.

What is the effect of your equipment on equipment downtime and operation?
Most of our technologies are installed in parallel with your equipment, so any outage will have no effect on your equipment. The products that are installed in series have bypass switches, allowing customers to bypass our products, if needed.
Our products will not harm your existing equipment, and in fact will enhance service life and reduce maintenance costs. This is especially true for facilities that contain harmonic-generating loads (such as variable-frequency drives and large switching power supplies), which can actually harm other equipment within your facility. We have technologies that eliminate damaging harmonics, and many of our clients report reduced equipment downtime and maintenance costs as a result.
